A malfunctioning industrial gas valve can cause catastrophic damage to any vessel or system. However, spotting the first symptoms and preventing industrial gas valve failure can help avoid this. Why does the H2 Cylinder Valve fail? Valves are precision devices designed to ensure safe and proper operation. Depending on the flow control, several factors can cause the H2 Cylinder Valve to fail, including, worn elastomers and seat gaskets, debris in the piping, operation in high-temperature environments, and improper valve installation, maintenance, and assembly. The sealing performance of industrial gas valves refers to the ability of valve seals to prevent medium leakage, which is the most important technical performance index of valves. The industrial gas valve has three sealing parts: the contact between the opening and closing parts and the two sealing surfaces of the valve seat; the packing and the valve stem and the stuffing box; the connection between the valve body and the valve cover. The former type of leakage is called internal leakage, commonly referred to as shut-off, and it affects the valve's ability to shut off the medium. For globe valves, internal leakage is not allowed. The last two leaks are called external leaks, that is, the medium leaks from the valve to the outside of the valve. External leakage will cause material loss, pollute the environment, and in severe cases, will cause accidents. For flammable, explosive, toxic, or radioactive media, no leakage is allowed, so industrial gas valves must have reliable sealing performance.
